Our Eye Care Services

At your first appointment with us, you will meet with Dr. Pradhan to discuss the current state of your vision and eye health so she can create a personalized treatment plan for your individual needs. To learn more about the various treatment methods we offer, check out the list below and visit our informational pages.

General Eye Care

We offer comprehensive eye care to treat a wide range of conditions and diseases so you can keep your vision clear. Our general eye care includes treatments for glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, macular degeneration, plaquenil monitoring and more. If you are looking to maintain or improve your eye health, choose Eye Doctor MD, P.C. as your speciality eye care destination.

Cataract Surgery

Cataracts are when the lens of the eye becomes clouded, which leads to blurry and unclear vision. They are the most common cause of vision loss and blindness in the world for patients over the age of 40, as chances of developing cataracts increase with age. While maintaining overall health can help prevent cataract formation, eye surgery is necessary to treat more advanced cases of cataracts.

Cornea Therapy

The cornea is the outermost layer of tissue on our eye which has a vital role in helping focus our vision, however, it is vulnerable to various diseases. Dr. Pradhan specializes in the treatment of diseases that affect the cornea, including keratitis, dry eye, Fuchs’ Dystrophy, keratoconus and more. At Eye Doctor MD, we offer a wide range of cornea therapy including transplants, Collagen Cross-Linking, pterygium, and neoplasia excision as well as utilizing the anterior segment OCT as an optical (noninvasive) biopsy to check for neoplasia.

Dry Eye Disease

Dry eye is a common and complex condition with multiple causes. Dry Eye can lead to intermittent blurry vision, eye fatigue/tiredness, itchiness or irritation of the eyes. The treatment for dry eye disease varies depending on the severity of the individual case. Dr. Pradhan will create a customized treatment plan to provide you with effective relief for your dry eye symptoms. Ask for a dry eye evaluation when you schedule your appointment.

Keratoconus

Keratoconus is a progressive disease that affects the cornea, warping the typical dome shape of the cornea to be more cone-shaped, which leads to distorted vision. The treatment for Keratoconus depends on the stage of deformation of the cornea. Dr. Pradhan will determine the best treatment for your Keratoconus to effectively help restore your vision. Treatment ranges from corrective glasses and contacts to cornea transplant surgery.

LipiFlow

LipiFlow is a specialized treatment for patients who suffer from dye eye disease caused by a condition called Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD). Using thermal pulsation technology, this 12 minute in office procedure restores the meibum layer of your tear film to provide fast and effective relief from dry eye symptoms.

Intense Pulse Light (IPL)

Typically used as a treatment for skin discoloration, Intense Pulse Light can also be used to provide relief for dry eye disease. IPL uses photocoagulation and photoregeneration to restore abnormal blood vessels and skin cells that cause dry eye disease to a healthy state. IPL may be used in conjunctions with other treatments including LipiFlow or BlephEx for more effective relief.

BlephEx

Blepharitis and Meibomitis are conditions caused by bacteria buildup and infection of the eyelash roots and glands around the eyelid, leading to crusty eyelids and general eye discomfort. BlephEx is a specialized treatment that cleans the eyelids to treat or prevent the onset of Blepharitis and Meibomitis.
